Good News

I had to return to my physician today to checkup on my blood disorder. Good news as levels were stable and white count was up. I have a 1 in 1 million disorder called Poly Vera and I take an old chemo drug for it. This is the only drug that works on to control it. I have been blessed. The only side effect has been making me sleepy and that works for me. I sleep alot at night and take a daytime nap. Less knitting and quilting, but I am still plugging along.

Praise God for all his blessings including today's good blood values. Yesterday, God blessed me by the lump I had found. It was a fatty tumor which requires nothing and is non-malignant. Maybe God wants me to do alot more about knitting. I lost a dear friend to cancer last week. I plan to celebrate her life with devoting more of mine to making chemo caps to donate to charity.

Better sign off now as I need to mail some patterns to a lady that requested them.

In between knitting, I cook, volunteer with my grandchildren (5) helping them create their school projects and projects for church involvement. My daughter is a physician and has five children from ages 5 mos. to 9 years of age. They are a handful, but a delight too. My 3 yr. old granddaughter called me tonight and said, "I missed you today, Granny. I love you. Will you come to see me?" That is just a wonderful day in my life.

I also have a son and a new wonderful daughter-in-law. They are newlyweds and are just settling into their home. They have a garden for the first time and are hoping to grow some of their herbs, etc. if the squirrels cooperate.

My husband is trying to raise us some good organic food for our panty. We cook two full meals every day and sometimes three. That is an oddity for our community for people our age. For some reason most of the senior citizens in our community eat out or just junk it, but my husband and I love our good cooked vegetables and fruits.

Enough for blogging. Guess I had better get busy. Oh, by the way we have been flooded in this week. We live on a 155 acre farm. I will post pictures of flood later.

Crafting Lady

This is my first time to have a blog. I am a retired sp. edu. teacher in Tennessee. I have been blessed by God with a wonderful life and such a sweetie for a husband. I now work with The Knitwitters at Hillsboro Church of Christ in Nashville. We do charity knitting and crocheting as an outreach to our community and for our mission efforts. These are approximately 60 hats that a friend and I did in February 2010.
